Advanced Research with Roots in the Community〜Nature and challenges abound, and curiosity and a sense of mission will change the future.
The Tohoku region is a rich region with diverse nature, and it is also an area with a concentration of issues such as aging agriculture and fisheries, medical problems due to depopulation, energy problems, and so on. The seeds of both types of research lie all around you: "research that starts from curiosity" to solve the mysteries around you, and "research that starts from a sense of mission" to solve actual problems in the world. At this year's Tohoku Conference, we are looking for a variety of research themes that start with curiosity and a sense of mission. In addition, there will be talks by researchers who are actually trying to change "Aomori, the shortest-lived prefecture in Japan" through their research. We hope that this conference will bring together researchers who will change the future of this rich region (Sachie Momokegi, Tohoku Conference Leader).
