We are pleased to announce that Dr. Kazuteru Matsuo, President of EX-Fusion Corporation, who is developing a laser fusion reactor, will give a keynote speech at the Science Castle 2023 Kansai Conference.

Fusion reactors have been called the "sun on earth" and "dream energy" because they can produce enormous amounts of energy, equivalent to eight tons of oil, from a single gram of fuel, and are being studied around the world as a next-generation energy technology. EX-Fusion Inc. is an Osaka University venture company that aims to realize a "laser fusion reactor" that uses lasers to instantly fuse deuterium and tritium (tritium), isotopes of hydrogen.

The sun is constantly shining and illuminating the earth where we live. This energy is produced by nuclear fusion reactions.
Fusion power generation is the reproduction of nuclear fusion reactions on earth and converting the energy produced into a usable form such as electricity. We are taking on the challenge of this fusion power generation by utilizing laser technology." I would like to explain what it means to "create the sun on earth" in an easy-to-understand way.

He founded EX-Fusion as a founder in 2021. D. in Physics from Osaka University. He focused on research on fast ignition fusion, demonstrating efficient fusion plasma heating and contributing to the realization of future fusion reactors. After completing his studies at Osaka University, he worked on fusion research at the University of California, San Diego.
