LIVERNESS Corporation, together with the Benesse Children's Fund, has established the "Science Castle Research Fund Benesse Children's Fund D&I Award" to support research activities and science education of middle and high school students who will lead the next generation and to develop science and technology. The Benesse Science Castle Research Fund D&I Award supports research by junior and senior high school students on their own subjects and helps each individual take a step forward to change the world, toward the realization of "a society where children with a future can expand their own potential in a safe environment where they can engage in learning.

The target field of the open call is "Targeted research or development of any kind focusing on one's own characteristics or minorities". We will create a communication and presentation environment where you can work on your research in your own way without anxiety, and our expert mentors will accompany you in your unprecedented research ideas that are full of individuality and sensitivities.

Subject areas : All kinds of development and research focusing on one's own characteristics and minorities.
Target: Junior high school students, high school students, and technical college students (3rd year or younger) who are engaged in research activities.
Applicants with hearing or visual impairments are also eligible to apply. (Please consult with us if you have any concerns about other applicant characteristics.)
Application Period : Thursday, June 1, 2023 - Monday, July 31, 2023 17:00
Purpose of use: Expenses required for research and development (materials, purchase of parts, etc., equipment, transportation, etc., but excluding food and beverage expenses). However, food and beverage expenses are excluded.)
Grant details : 50,000 yen for research expenses + research mentoring by an expert in your own research
Number of employment : About 3
Research period : September 2023 - March 2024

We will hold an online information session for those who would like to know more about the contents and subject matter of the proposed research. Dr. Akitoshi Shitara, University of Tsukuba

Making Tactile Sense the Standard - Practical Application of Tactile Start Technology in Competitive Sports
Mr. Shitara is an athlete who himself participated in the Deaflympics, the Olympic Games for deaf athletes, and is a researcher who is making things to solve the issues he felt during his participation. In this briefing session, he will give a lecture as a senior researcher of his own research titled "Making Tactile Sense the Standard: Practical Application of Tactile Start Technology in Athletic Sports.
