Research on the development of technologies and mechanisms to promote the recycling of plastics and other resources
The social structure of mass consumption and mass disposal that has spread rapidly around the world over the past few decades or so has recently come to be recognized as a "challenge. Plastic has been attracting particular attention. Disposable plastic products such as plastic bags and packaging materials are rarely recycled and are made from fossil fuels, which are then incinerated to become CO2 in the atmosphere or leaked as waste into the environment.
For example, in the case of containers, it is often necessary to guarantee the quality of the contents, and the amount of reduction in society as a whole will depend more on the efforts of manufacturers than consumers. Therefore, we are calling for proposals for technological development and the creation of mechanisms to change behavior in order to promote the three Rs of plastic: Reuse, Recycle, and Recovery.
We are also looking for proposals that contribute to the recycling of other resource-related issues, such as the disposal of surplus food (food loss) and electronic devices containing rare metals that are disposed of as general non-burnable trash.
We hope that the themes we propose will be demonstrated in schools, homes, communities, and other familiar social settings. Once we have confirmed their effectiveness, we plan to provide further support for their wider deployment.
Due to the situation of schools and research teams under the declared state of emergency, the application deadline has been extended until March 18 (Thursday)
An awareness survey on plastics is also being conducted! →. For Students For Teachers
