Science Castle 2021 Tohoku Conference will be held on Saturday, January 29, 2021! Entries are now being accepted! (Deadline: 10/31)

The Science Castle 2021 Tohoku Conference will be held on January 29, 2022 in Tomiya City, Miyagi Prefecture.

In addition to oral and poster presentations by junior and senior high school student researchers, the day will also include presentations by Tomiya City junior and senior high school students on their research on hydrogen energy and zero carbon, and special lectures by researchers and venture companies.

We are now accepting entries for Science Castle domestic competitions, including the Tohoku competition, so please apply now. (Entry for Tohoku CompetitionDeadline:10/31 (Sun.))

participant	200-300 junior high and high school students, 30 teachers, 30 general public, 40 business and municipal officials

＜Flow of the day

The conference plans to implement the following projects. (The contents of the plans are subject to change)

From the viewpoint of preventing the spread of new corona infection, the event will be operated under adequate infection prevention measures such as ventilation and alcohol disinfection, avoiding a three-density environment. Depending on the status of the spread of infection, we may consider switching to an online format.

8:30-9:00	reception (desk)
9:00-9:20	opening ceremony
9:30-11:30	Poster Presentations (45-50 by middle and high school students, 5 by researchers) Presentation of research results in poster format by the entering schools. Discussions and exchanges with poster judges consisting of students and teachers from other schools and young researchers.
11:45-12:15	Special Research Presentation and Lunch Tomiya City Junior and Senior High School Students Present Research Results on Hydrogen Energy and Zero Carbon
12:30-15:50	Oral presentations (12) Twelve teams, selected from among the schools that entered the competition through a preliminary screening of documents, will present their research.
16:00-16:30	Session: Finding a "Master" of Research The speakers will include junior and senior high school students who have found "mentors" in their research, and the senior researchers who have created the opportunity for them to develop their own career paths.
16:35-17:15	Session: Pioneering Future Lifestyles with Innovative Energy Technologies Special lectures by energy researchers and venture capitalists (1) 16:35-16:55 Prof. Hirotomo Nishihara, Tohoku University (2) 16:55-17:15 Mr. Takamitsu Ikoma, President, ICOMA Inc.
