Details of the 2015 Kanto Convention

December 20 (Sun.)Science Castle 2015 Kanto Conference

On Sunday, December 20, 2015, Liberace, Inc. will hold its fourth annual Science Castle 2015 Kanto Conference at the TEPIA Advanced Technology Pavilion.

Discussing research on the theme of "The Future Created by Science and Technology" at TEPIA, where cutting-edge technology gathers.

The Kanto competition will be held at the TEPIA Advanced Technology Pavilion, where cutting-edge technology will be on display,How will research shape the future? We will create a place where people can imagine and talk about
It is the research results of someone in the world who solves "problems" and elucidates "wonders" that will advance the world. And it is the junior and senior high school students, the next generation of researchers who will gather here at the Kanto Conference, who will lead the world of research in the future.Middle and high school students present their research and the leading researchers and inventors of our time give presentations. The program provides an opportunity to discuss and enhance each other's skills and take further steps forward.

We can even take on the challenge of moving society from school research!

Some people actually start their own businesses while still in college, based on the research and challenges they undertook in junior high and high school. At the Kanto Conference, we will have a special lecture by a senior who is currently taking on such a challenge.

15:30-15:50 "A research story of five teenagers that began with a research project in high school"
TRYBOTS Takumi Nishina
TRYBOTS is a team of five teenagers who started out in high school with a research project (developing a penguin-shaped robot). Today, we would like to ask you about the driving force behind their continued research after graduating from high school, as well as their goals for the future.

Event to experience the future created by science and technology.

In addition to research presentations, there will be a space elevator contest in which participants will compete to build a future technology "space elevator" using LEGO® MINDSTORM, an event on fuel cells to experience the future hydrogen society, and many other events that will allow visitors to feel the future created by science and technology.

11:40-13:15 Space Climber Competition in Science Castle "Challenge to Develop Space Elevator!(Advance registration required, no application required for tours)
A competition will be held by teams of junior and senior high school students who are working on the development of a space elevator, which is attracting attention as a future means of transportation into space, using LEGO bricks. The teams will compete with their aircraft, which they have developed through trial and error in order to climb faster and more reliably.

What kind of image do you have of "college"? Some of you may want to study your favorite field of study when you become a university student. But before that, many of you may not have a concrete idea of what you can do at university. At this booth, active researchers who love science will talk about their experiences and research available at universities. In an atmosphere where you can easily talk with researchers, why don't you become more specific about what you want to be?
