Measures to Prevent the Spread of Infectious Diseases at Science Castle 2020 Kanto and Kansai Conventions
2020.11.25The following measures will be taken to prevent the spread of infectious diseases during the Science Castle 2020 Kanto and Kansai Conferences to be held on Sunday, December 20, 2020. (The measures will be modified as the situation changes.)
1. measures to be taken at the venue on the day of the event
- In order to limit the number of visitors on the day of the event, the number of presentations was reduced in FY2020 as follows
<Kanto Tournament

- FY 2019: 12 oral and 106 poster presentations; approximately 600 middle and high school students and teachers
- FY2020: 8 oral presentations and 80 poster presentations, approximately 300-350 middle and high school students and teachers are expected.
<Kansai Convention
-
- FY 2019: 12 oral and 120 poster presentations; approximately 400 middle and high school students and teachers
- FY2020: 8 oral presentations, 70 poster presentations, 250-300 middle and high school students and teachers
- Panels for displaying posters will be set up in consideration of social distance, and the aisles in the venue will be wider than in previous years.
- Poster presentations will be divided into odd-numbered and even-numbered slots, so as to avoid excessive proximity to neighboring presenters.
- Alcohol sanitizer will be available on each floor of the venue.
- Entrances and exits will be opened at each venue to provide ventilation inside the venue.
- The program will be divided into the first and second halves for oral and poster presentations so that participants do not stay at the same venue for a long time.
2. visitor relations
- Please be sure to confirm the following items with each team in advance.If applicable, you will not be allowed to come on the day of the event.
- If you are not feeling well on the day (fever, cough, sore throat, taste disorder, etc.)
- Travel to a country or region where the government has placed restrictions on entry or required a period of observation after entry within the past 14 days, or have been in close contact with a person residing in this NPP.
- Concentrated contact within 14 days with a person who has tested positive for novel coronavirus infection
- Temperature check (non-contact type) at the time of reception, if the temperature result is 37.5 degrees Celsius or higher
- Masks are required to be worn in the venue, and those not wearing masks will not be allowed to participate.
- To avoid excessive contact with the reception staff, participants will be asked to pick up their own name tags and handouts.
- If you become ill during the event, please notify the staff immediately.
- During breaks and when having lunch on site, we will announce that we ask for your cooperation in washing your hands and disinfecting your fingers with alcohol.
