Almost everyone has experienced "growing" plants at least once. Even in elementary school, you grow morning glories, mini-tomatoes, etc.Cultivation" and "cultivation research" both involve growing plants, but the difference is whether there is a purpose and hypothesis behind it.

The power of plants can be brought out more if the environment can be adjusted. Cultivation research is the process of verifying whether or not changes in cultivation conditions will bring about the desired changes, such as producing more fruit or sweeter fruits. Why not try your hand at cultivation research by carefully observing plants that do not speak, and listening to their voices?

Program Overview

Dream Chikara" Cultivation Research Programhas been in place since 2012.Shikishima Baking Company (Pasco)is sponsored by theLIVERNESS CorporationThis is a program to discover yourself living in connection with others through the experience of making food for "yourself and another person other than yourself.

In this program,Domestic wheat "Yumechikarato water and observe from seeding in October until harvest time the following June. This is also an ideal theme for research assignments. Let's investigate the relationship between the cultivation method and the yield. After the harvest, you can try your hand at baking bread! You can also send out information about your activities and see what other participating schools are doing on the dedicated website.

Recruitment of participating schools for the 10th period

We are now accepting applications for this year's Proposal Research Schools and Free Research Schools.

Study Duration:September 2021 - September 2022


Schools
:
Subject research schools (target: 3 junior high schools and high schools in Japan)
Free research schools (target: about 40 junior high and high schools nationwide)

Contents:
(1) Problem research school
You will work on a research project on cultivation of Yumechikara, focusing on the relationship between fertilizer application and yield. We will provide you with Yumechikara seeds, a planter, soil, fertilizer, and other materials necessary for your research.

(2) Free research school
We will provide seeds of Yumechikara. You are free to do your own research on the cultivation of Yumechikara.

Conditions of participation:
(1) Have an environment that allows for independent cultivation.
(2) Able to submit reports and questionnaires.

Research Schools / Friday, July 30, 2021, 6:00 p.m.
Free Research School / Friday, August 27, 2021, 18:00
