Offshore Wind Power and Waste Heat Utilization Theme] Passionate and Cutting-edge Mission-E FY2022 Call for Applications [Kanto and Kitakyushu Regions] (Japanese only)

2022.03.01
[Offshore Wind and Waste Heat Utilization Theme] Passionate and Advanced Mission-E FY2022 Call [Kanto and Kitakyushu Regions] .

Passionate and Advanced Mission-E" is a project in which high school students learn knowledge and perspectives from Nittetsu Engineering engineers, and learn how to solve social issues through hands-on activities over a period of about eight months.

Through this program, we aim to nurture engineers who will lead the future by experiencing the world of engineering and its fascination.

Mission-E Point 1: Acquiring cross-disciplinary problem-solving skills through manufacturing
Students will use their knowledge of a variety of subjects, including physics, mathematics, and social studies, as they design, build, and present structural models and heat recovery models. Students will experience the comprehensive thinking required to solve real engineering and social problems.

Mission-E Point 2: Discussions with real engineers
You can work on development while receiving advice from real engineers and researchers. At each event, there is also a social event where you can talk freely about your job and career path outside of the project.

Schedule Overview

Mission-E Schedule Overview

Applications are now being accepted for two programs in FY2022 (Kanto and Kitakyushu)

Kanto】Energy Island Project - Design the offshore wind farm of the future.

A model of a floating offshore wind farm, 1/250th of the actual size, will be developed and a contest will be held using a waterway with a full-scale wave generator. The contest will be based not only on the amount of electricity generated by the wind turbine, but also on the overall score, including cost and environmental aspects.

<Subscription Period and Summary
Application Period:April - June 2, 2022
Target : Groups of high school students (in the case of integrated junior and senior high schools, mixed teams with junior high school students are also acceptable)
Location: Schools and facilities in the Kanto area

In the event that there are too many applications, the participating schools will be selected.

<Requirements for Participation

  • Possible to participate in the events we organizea matter of (e.g. fact)
    1. You must agree to allow us to publish your photos, etc. on our website/booklet, etc.
    2. You must be able to provide the following materials and space
  • Computer and software for making presentations, etc.
  • Space for development (where a small pool of 200 cm x 200 cm can be installed)
  • Tools required for model making
  • Parts other than materials to be provided

Kitakyushu] Ecology Plant Project
〜Design the factory of the future using waste heat.

The PC is regarded as a factory and its waste heat is converted to power and hot water production is challenged. Participants will design and experiment to show how energy can be effectively utilized without compromising the function of the PC (factory).
