Special Lecture "Fascination of Veterinary Research"

We will take a closer look at "pig farming," which supports our dining tables, from the perspective of life science. The lecture will also introduce the appeal of veterinary research based on the activities at the site of the outbreak of foot-and-mouth disease in Miyazaki Prefecture.
Speaker Information
After graduating from university, he went to work for the Chiba Prefectural Agricultural Mutual Aid Association. As an on-site veterinarian with close ties to the community, he provided medical services to swine farms, made rounds, performed pathological autopsies, and conducted antibody research. Currently, he is engaged in research on methods for early detection and prevention of locomotor diseases in pigs. In addition, he received the "5th Incentive Award" from the Japanese Society of Swine Science and Technology in 2011 for his "research on clarification of the actual situation of the onset of leg weakness in pigs and development of clinical diagnosis techniques".
