Kansai] Cutting-edge Manufacturing Lecture "Let's Try 3D Printer" was held on August 24. was held on Aug. 24, 2012.
2016.09.01Outline of Implementation
With 3D printers now available at low cost, manufacturing has become more accessible. In this course, participants learned about 3D modeling and how 3D printers work, and output original 3D printer products conceived by themselves!
In this cutting-edge manufacturing course "Let's Try 3D Printer! In this lecture,
Part I: "What is a 3D Printer?"
Part II: "Challenging 3D Modeling"
Part III: "Let's Output with a 3D Printer"
The event was divided into three parts.
Part I. What is a 3D Printer?
3D printers are devices that print three-dimensional objects using resin, plaster, or metal, as opposed to 2D printers that print two-dimensionally on regular paper. 3D printer patents expired in 2009, which has greatly reduced the price of 3D printers, and now 3D printers are being used not only in the industrial field, but also in the educational field. The use of 3D printers is now spreading not only in the industrial field but also in the educational field!

Part 2: Challenging 3D modeling
As with the designing of a product, a 3D printer requires a design before output. 3D modeling is generally used to draw a design in 3D, and the software used to do this is called CAD.
In this case, we used 123D Design, a free software program that can be used by beginners and advanced users alike.
Even first-time users will be able to draw various blueprints within an hour or two.
123D Design is currently out of service.Tinkercad orFusion360 (Added October 8, 2021)
Part 3: Let's try outputting with a 3D printer.
By sending the created 3D data to the 3D printer, it is output from the bottom to the top, just like making ice cream.
However, just sending 3D data to a 3D printer does not mean that it will be output. The 3D data is converted into a state in which it is sliced into multiple layers in a PC, and that data is sent to a 3D printer, where it is output one layer at a time from the bottom to the top.
Scenery of implementation
Principle
The 3D printer builds up raw materials from the bottom to the top, just like making ice cream, and then molds the product.
3D modeling challenge
We used 3D modeling software called 123D design to draw the blueprints. This software is easy to use even for beginners and allows for advanced editing.
3D printer output settings
We introduced the settings for sending data created with 3D modeling software to a 3D printer.

(2) Consultation Service for Proposal Research
This program is for those who wish to consult on the research they are working on. This is a preliminary meeting to consult with researchers from universities and companies in fields similar to the research you are working on. We will confirm and organize your research background and the content of your consultation.
