Japanese and Southeast Asian junior and senior high school students exchanged opinions at [Go To Asia: A New Experience] at the Osaka-Kansai Conference (12/21)!
2024.12.23On Saturday, December 21, 2024, the Science Castle 2024 Osaka-Kansai Conference was held at Daiwa University, Osaka-Suita Campus, with a total of 545 participants. Twelve oral presentations and 80 poster presentations were made by partners from 16 institutions, including companies and universities.
Go To Asia: A New Experience] was held as a special session on the same day. In this session, students from Singapore, Malaysia, and the Philippines shared their research being conducted in Southeast Asia. They also shared their experiences at the "Science Castle Asia" held in October 2024 and the future they envision as next-generation researchers as well as Japanese junior and senior high school students. In addition, junior and senior high school student researchers conducting research in Japan also shared their own initiatives and experiences.

Students who participated in this session engaged in a lively discussion about the importance of building a network of researchers at a young age. Through this valuable experience, many students were able to increase their motivation to actively pursue a career as a researcher after university.
Participants also shared how the discussion had affected their own futures as young researchers. Among them, in addition to interacting with high school students and participating undergraduate and graduate students, they said that hearing the opinions of the partner companies provided them with new hints for further advancing their own research.
These activities will continue to play an important role in the career development of our students, and we will continue to support these future researchers.
