Ishigaki Island Science Tour
Ishigaki Island, Okinawa Prefecture, 1,700 km from Osaka. The island has unique nature such as coral reefs and mangrove forests, as well as wisdom and culture rooted in the nature. We will introduce an educational tour program that reveals these from a scientific perspective.
Other Programs
- An exhibition for teachers will also be held!
- In the oral presentation section of the Science Castle, middle and high school students who participated in the tour this summer will present the results of their research on water quality and vegetation surveys in mangrove forests, and brown sugar and tofu production.
Try your hand at lie detector and making liquid crystal!
Let's experience detecting the movement of the mind by measuring changes in electrical resistance of the skin caused by mental excitement and mental perspiration caused by stimuli from the outside world. There is also an experiment to create liquid crystals from plant-derived materials. Let's experience the beautiful structural color glow that liquid crystals give off.
Other Programs
Special exhibition of award-winning works from the Microscopic Photography Contest
Based on the idea that "micrographs create a union of science and art," we hold a micrograph contest every year. The award-winning works selected from over 60 countries and regions around the world will be exhibited. Please come and experience the beauty of the microscopic world and the techniques of microscopy.
Faculty of Science, Faculty of Computer Science and Engineering, Faculty of Integrated Life Sciences
Kyoto Sangyo University will celebrate its 50th anniversary in 2015. "Sangyo" also means "Musubi Work" and represents innovation that brings new value to society by connecting things, things, and people with new ideas. Kyoto Sangyo University will continue to take on unconventional challenges by bringing together students from all faculties, both liberal arts and science, on one campus to expand possibilities through the fusion of different personalities and different fields under the slogan "Keep Innovating.
Department of Bioscience and Biotechnology
New fields created by the fusion of science, agriculture, engineering, and medicine
The exhibition introduces Dr. Kishigami's research, which is also featured in the Winter issue of "someone" (p. 24), and displays glowing mouse "poop" and mammoth "teeth". Other unique research projects conducted by the Department of Bioscience and Biotechnology, such as the "Mammoth Resurrection Project" using samples excavated from permafrost and the "Imo Energy Project" to save Japan, will also be introduced!

Portable Becquerel Counter Exhibit
Ltd. has developed a handy type Becquerel counter in cooperation with Osaka University. Being portable, it can more easily measure the radioactivity concentration in food, soil, etc. We will be exhibiting a demonstration unit for the implementation of an educational program using the Becquerel Counter. We will also hold a hearing about the monitors, so please stop by our booth.
Demonstration, Biophysics
~Using physics and mathematics to understand how life works~.
Our body consists of about 60 trillion cells. Inside the cells, proteins work like tiny machines (molecular machines), each with its own role. Biophysics uses physics and mathematics to study the movement of proteins and cells. Biophysicists will demonstrate and explain how to watch, measure, manipulate, and simulate "movement.
Michinoku Future Education Support Project
We introduce "Michinoku Mirai Fund", a scholarship program for children in Tohoku to study hard and achieve their dreams without hesitation, as well as the experimental class "Challenge to cultivate human cell culture experiment at Ishinomaki High School" held this year! @ Ishinomaki High School" held this year.
