The Research and Development of a Small, Low-Cost Aquaculture Underwater Drone

    MORE
While aquaculture fish is currently attracting attention as a healthy, nutritious source of protein, water quality degradation for scraped food from the aquaculture farm has been a problem. The aim of my research is to develop a prototype of the underwater drone which can cope with this problem. I especially focused on developing systems that can automatically measure the water temperature and TDS (Total Dissolved Solids) by depth. I especially focused on developing systems that can automatically measure the water temperature and TDS (Total Dissolved Solids by depth.) Small, inexpensive underwater drones that can acquire water quality data are to be completed. These types of underwater drones are expected to improve the water quality of the areas near aquaculture fields.

Isolation and Antibiotic Sensitivity of Escherichia coli and Salmonella spp. from Retailed Raw Chicken Meat Sold in Selected Supermarkets in Valencia City, Bukidnon

    MORE
Contaminated food causes significant foodborne illnesses, with raw poultry, especially chicken, being a major source. Antibiotic use in poultry has led to antibiotic-resistant bacterial strains, posing a public health threat. Fifteen samples from three supermarkets showed 93.33% contamination, with Salmonella in 80% of samples and E. coli in 26.671TP Antibiotic testing showed 75% of E. coli and 83.33% of Salmonella were tetracycline-resistant, and 50% of E. coli were enrofloxacin- This highlights the health risks of contaminated chicken and the need for proper food handling and antibiotic resistance monitoring.

Remoulding Plastic at a Lower Temperature in Attempt to Reduce Toxic Gas Emissions

    MORE
Burning plastic is a widespread practice across the globe, however, it results in the emission of harmful gases and greenhouse gases such as carbon dioxide and methane. Commercial uses of plastic contain impurities such as sulfur, which when burned, release toxicants. The melting points for different types of plastics range from 115°C to 270°C (Europlas). In this paper, the gas emissions released from the remolding of plastics were investigated and compared At different temperatures to determine the optimal temperature where gas emissions were most reduced while maintaining the plastic's physical properties once solidified.

Glucose Oxide Encapsulation Integrated Gold Nanoparticles in Zeolitic Imidazolate Framework-8 (ZIF-8) as a Glucose Responsive Drug Delivery System for Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus

    MORE
Smart drug delivery systems responsive to glucose levels are pivotal for managing diabetes, particularly in highly mobile patients prone to neglecting medication. This study introduces GOx-Au@ZIF-8 with the development of encapsulating glucose oxidase (GOx), gold nanoparticles (AuNPs), and metformin in ZIF-8 frameworks. GOx converts glucose into gluconic acid and hydrogen peroxide (H2O2), reducing pH and triggering ZIF-8 to release AuNPs facilitate the breakdown of H2O2 into water and oxygen. Characterization using XRD, FTIR, and SEM confirmed the formation of ZIF-8 crystals with square sodalite-like topology, maintaining integrity without new absorptions.

EcoGuard: Exploring the Thermal Properties and Cushioning Properties of Luffa Gourd, Coconut Husks, Newspaper and its Application in Food Packaging

    MORE
According to New Scientist Magazine, less than 10% of the world's polystyrene is recycled in 2022, which contributes to pollution. This research aims to develop a food packaging with cushioning and thermal properties, made of Luffa acutangula (luffa gourd), coconut husks and newspaper, named the EcoGuard. Luffa acutangula and newspaper are for cushioning and heat insulator while coconut husks are heat insulators, causing it EcoGuard helps to decrease pollution by reducing the use of non-biodegradable products. To investigate the potential, two methods are proposed which are layer-by-layer and mixture. In conclusion, EcoGuard aims to develop potential in sustainable packaging and address environmental concerns, contributing to SDG 12: Responsible consumption and production and 13: Climate action. As it gains acceptance, EcoGuard signifies a significant step toward reducing ecological footprints and establishing sustainable norms.
