Thinking about "What is Health?" across generational boundaries

Astellas Pharma Inc. ("Astellas") provides "value" to society by creating innovative new drugs and healthcare solutions to improve patients' access to healthcare and outcomes ("value") under its VISION of "standing at the forefront of changing healthcare and turning scientific advances into "value" for patients. The company provides "value" to society by creating innovative new medicines and healthcare solutions to improve patients' access to healthcare and outcomes (outcomes and conditions). For the first time, Astellas has established the Science Castle Research Fund Astellas Award to support the research activities of junior and senior high school students who are interested in and concerned about health. What is the desire of a pharmaceutical company to gather the next generation of colleagues?

Changing the way we deal with health

New drugs for diseases for which there is still no effective treatmentAstellas is committed to creating pharmaceuticals.is not only to create medicines, but also to deepen the understanding of the patients to whom they will be delivered. The patient's challenges are not only the disease itself, but also the patient's own health and wellbeing. The challenges that patients face are not limited to the disease itself. It is not only the one of When the diagnosis is made, the treatment method is selfThe difficulty of making decisions, and the lack of understanding of the people around you when you are ill.The prejudice against the patient, the anxiety about how they will be seen, etc., are all factors that can be addressed with medication alone.are challenges that cannot be solved. To contribute to people's healthAs a company, we not only provide healthcare solutions, but we also provide a wide range of services to anyone whoThe literacy activities must also be combined with the efforts to make health accessible to all people. This is what Kono and Ishii's team realized through their own conversations with patients. The duo believes that the life science company needs to take a broader perspective in its efforts toward health, rather than focusing on the point at which a patient becomes ill. Since anyone can become ill, and since everyone lives in relation to society, it is necessary for society as a whole to address health issues, without drawing a line between those who are ill and those who are not.

Toward the realization of a society in which everyone can live healthy lives in their own way

Sudden illness despite having been in good health up to that pointIf you are not aware of what you are taking, you will not know what kind of drugs you are taking or what you are taking. It is difficult to know what you need to take care of in your life to recover quickly.Vague anxiety is growing from a lack of understanding of their own body and the disease. To take appropriate actions to be healthy while dealing with chiis surprisingly difficult. Also, the freedom of what to eat and the lifestyleIn today's world of increasing health awareness, people have different ways of perceiving health. What is health for you and how do you go about achieving it? What is health for me and how can I achieve it?We hope that each one of you can think about how you should behave. The goal is to help people live healthy lives in their own way by providing them with the opportunity toThey should be getting closer. However, even in these modern times, middle and high school studentsPhysically healthy and even if they are sick, they are often preserved. It is not uncommon for them to ask for instructions from their guardians. In other words, middle and high school students are healthy. It is thought that adults do not have as many opportunities to stop and think about these issues as adults do.The "health" of the people is not the only factor that must be taken into consideration. However, it is important to realize a society in which everyone lives in good health andWith the next generation of middle and high school students, in order to sustain theHe said we need to start working on "what is health?"They thought about it.

Making health personal through research activities

In starting the Science Castle Research Fund initiative, we have decided toand "in having the ability to push forward with what I am interested in.What wonders will the high school students bring with them?I'm looking forward to seeing how they do," they say. We're going through the scientific questions. The research is not only about health issues from a societal perspective, but also from a social one.I would welcome any research that would help me to I have a picture of my own health. If not, someone close to you, such as a parent, grandparent, friend, etc.You can think about your health. This research funding was the catalyst for this project,Each junior and senior high school student thinks about "health" and asks himself/herself questions. The research theme is the theme of the research activities. We will continue to advance the project. In the course of the activity, we will deepen the questions and ideasWe are committed to creating a world in which everyone is healthy by making it our own.It must be one step closer to the present.
