In response to the lack of opportunities for junior and senior high school students to present their research, LIVERNESS CORPORATION has been holding a conference for junior and senior high school students calledScience CastleThe "Science Castle" is held every year. We are pleased to announce that Otemon Gakuin University has joined the 2021 Science Castle as a university partner.

Science Castle started in 2012, and by 2019, it has grown to a scale of approximately 2,000 participants in 4 regions in Japan and 2 countries overseas. In 2021, we plan to hold the conference in four regions in Japan and two countries overseas, and corporate and university partners will participate in each conference.

Otemon Gakuin University, which will participate in the Science Castle as a university partner in fiscal 2021, has announced the launch of the new "Science Castle" in the Department of Psychology, Faculty of Psychology at Otemon Gakuin University in April 2021.Department of Artificial Intelligence and Cognitive ScienceThe company has established the "AI Technology Development Center" and started training AI human resources who will contribute to the realization of a better society by applying their deep understanding of human nature in the field of cognitive science to the development of AI technology.

Therefore, in order to promote research activities of the next generation who will lead the AI society in the future, the university has decided to join Science Castle as a partner to create a place where the next generation can grow up together. In addition, through the use of a media brochure published by RIVERNESS for junior and senior high school students and school teachers, the university will disseminate information on AI technologies that will be implemented in society in the future and AI human resources who can make use of these technologies.

Through these efforts, we will arouse the interest of many junior and senior high school students in the areas of artificial intelligence and cognitive science, and help them to make friends who will be responsible for the AI society of the future.

We will participate as a university partner in "Science Castle," an academic conference for junior high and high school students to be held in FY2021, and plan to exhibit a booth at the Kansai Conference to disseminate information to participating junior high and high school students.

Article in "Education Support," which supports research activities of middle and high school students and teachers at universities and companies

Starting with the June 1, 2021 issue (vol. 50), we have started a new section, "What kind of AI human resources can really play an active role in the future society? The following article appears on page 14.

We are planning to publish articles covering researchers in the fields of artificial intelligence and cognitive science in the same section of Education Support vol. 51 (issued in September 2021) and vol. 51 (issued in December 2021).
