LIVERNESS Corporation holds "Science Castle" and other events to support junior and senior high school student researchers who are engaged in research activities, creating opportunities for junior and senior high school students to present their research and experience cutting-edge research. This time, we are holding an online seminar "Science Castle" mainly for teachers who supervise research activities of junior and senior high school students.How to prepare a research presentation that will be understood - To put your "I want to do it! into wordswill be held on Friday, November 12, 2021.

 In this seminar, we will discuss with teachers who are teaching middle and high school students who are preparing to write applications and present their research for Science Castle Research Grant and other research funding on a daily basis, the key points that can be taught to help students become able to "communicate their research to others in an understandable way". The contents of this seminar are,This way.This is an excerpt from the publicly available materials.

Current postdoctoral researchers working at the institute will lecture on "tips for communicative research presentations" based on actual application forms, slides and posters they have prepared, and what points they can instruct you on.Discussion will be held. We will also be available to discuss and answer any questions or concerns participants may have during the seminar. In addition, we will share teaching materials such as research idea worksheets and other materials that can be used in inquiry-based learning and individualized instruction for students, along with how to use them.

We welcome the participation of teachers who are interested in presentations not limited to the above, regardless of their field of study. We look forward to welcoming many participants from all over Japan to this online event.

  3. (Mini-lecture) How to use worksheets as a subject for students to discuss
  4. (Mini-lecture & discussion) How to prepare application forms and slides that communicate research and share key points that can be taught.

Masaharu Onishi, Ph.
Max Planck Institute for the Biology of Aging
postdoctoral fellow
D. from Osaka University in March 2020. He specializes in cell biology and mitochondrial dynamics. Currently, he is studying "how mitochondria respond to stress inside and outside the cell. At the same time, he is working to help all junior and senior high school students who conduct research to grasp the "hints for communicating research in an easy-to-understand manner.
