Science Castle Grant 2025 Ajinomoto (Malaysia) Berhad Award (Malaysia only)

 

Have you ever wondered why school canteen food sometimes lacks freshness or nutrition? What factors affect the taste and quality of the meals served in schools? Why do in-flight meals often look wilted or lose their flavor, and how does packaging influence their freshness and quality? How does the way we produce, package, and consume food impact our health, environment, and society as a whole? Do you think it's possible to eat well, live well while reducing food waste and promoting sustainability?

 

Ajinomoto (Malaysia) Berhad (“Ajinomoto Malaysia”) invites young researchers from high schools across Malaysia to submit research proposals and collaborate on addressing key issues. Together, we can explore innovative solutions to improve food quality, reduce waste, and promote a sustainable future .

 

Selected teams will receive a grant to conduct the proposed research over a five-month duration, guided by mentors from Leave a Nest and Ajinomoto Malaysia. The final findings will be presented at Science Castle Asia 2025, an international conference for high school students in Asia .

Who can apply? A team of up to 5 members from the same secondary school or equivalent educational institution in Malaysia. There is no limit on the number of applications that a school/institution can submit.

申請条件

  • Applications are open to secondary school students or equivalent educational institutions in Malaysia (maximum of 5 students per group).
  • Selected teams will be required to attend the grant award ceremony at Ajinomoto (Malaysia) Berhad Manufacturing, Bandar Enstek, Negeri Sembilan.
  • The selected groups will conduct research on the given theme over a five-month period (May to September) using the grant, under the supervision of researchers from Leave a Nest and Ajinomoto (Malaysia) Berhad. Physical or online mentoring sessions will be held once a month (or as necessary) for a minimum duration of 60 minutes, outside the regular class schedule.
  • The selected groups will make their final presentations during Science Castle Asia 2025. Science Castle Asia is an international conference for secondary school students hosted by Leave a Nest. The presentations will be reviewed by expert judges, and monetary research awards will be given to the best presenters.
  • The consent of the school or parent/guardian supporting the research must be obtained before proceeding.
